Three additional people have been detained in connection with violent clashes that erupted during a Lord Ganesh idol procession, police reported on Friday.
The situation in Nagamangala town, Mandya district, has normalized as of two days after the clashes on Wednesday. Mobs had gone on a rampage, damaging shops and vehicles, but the area now remains peaceful.
To ensure continued stability, additional police forces have been deployed, and prohibitory orders limiting gatherings to four people have been issued until September 14. With these recent arrests, the total number of detainees stands at 55.
