Man Arrested in Gujarat for Allegedly Assaulting 10-Month-Old Girl

A man in Gujarat's Bharuch district was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 10-month-old girl. The incident occurred in Ankleshwar taluka when the accused took the child from her grandmother under the pretense of giving her wafers. The child was found bleeding and is now hospitalized.

A man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 10-month-old girl in Gujarat's Bharuch district, a police official said on Monday.

The incident took place in Panoli in Ankleshwar taluka on Sunday, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Kushal Oza.

The accused lured the child away from her grandmother by promising to give her wafers and sexually assaulted her en route to his house, explained Oza.

''When the grandmother heard the child's cries and rushed to the scene, she discovered the child bleeding from injuries to her private parts. The child was immediately taken to Bharuch civil hospital. A case of rape and sexual assault was registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, leading to the arrest of the accused,'' he added.
