Punjab Police Launches Major Internal Reform Project: Aiming for Citizen-Centric Policing
Punjab Police has initiated an Indian Police Foundation project to reform internal policing with a citizen-centric focus, starting with six and nine police stations in SAS Nagar and Roopnagar districts respectively. The project will later expand to other states including Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh.

Punjab Police has commenced an Indian Police Foundation project aimed at reforming internal police procedures to prioritize citizen-centric initiatives, especially at the police station level.
This project focuses on enhancing complaint registrations, improving police response and behavior, minimizing harassment, and promoting community engagement, according to an official statement.
The initiative, inaugurated by Special Director General of Police (Special DGP) Community Affairs Division Gurpreet Kaur Deo, with guidance from Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav, initially covers two districts--SAS Nagar and Roopnagar. The project's scope will later be expanded to the entire state and concurrently launched in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh.
