Odisha Government Ensures Security for Army Officer and Fiancee Amid Sexual Assault Case

The Odisha government has provided personal security officers (PSOs) for an army officer and his fiancee following an alleged sexual assault in custody at Bharatpur police station. This decision came after the couple met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, expressing concerns about safety. A judicial inquiry has been ordered.

The Odisha government has taken a protective measure by assigning personal security officers (PSOs) to an army officer and his fiancee, both victims of an alleged sexual assault at the Bharatpur police station.

A senior officer from the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate confirmed that the PSOs will accompany the couple during their movements in the city.

This decision follows a meeting between the couple, the woman's father, and several ex-army men with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, where the woman expressed fears of potential threats. The state government has also suspended five police personnel and initiated a judicial inquiry into the matter.
