Bombay HC Demands Impartial Probe in Badlapur Encounter

The Bombay High Court criticized the police handling of the Badlapur shootout involving Akshay Shinde, urging for an impartial investigation. The court questioned the circumstances leading to Shinde's death and emphasized that the situation could have been managed without resorting to lethal force. The case was referred to the Maharashtra CID for further inquiry.

On Wednesday, the Bombay High Court criticized the police's handling of the Badlapur sexual assault case involving Akshay Shinde, emphasizing the need for a fair and impartial investigation.

The court, led by Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Prithviraj Chavan, raised serious questions about the shootout that resulted in Shinde's death, which occurred on Monday evening on Mumbra bypass in Thane district.

The High Court has referred the case to the Maharashtra Crime Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation and warned that appropriate orders would be passed if the probe was not conducted properly.
