Actress and former MP of Rampur, Jayaprada, made an appearance in the MP-MLA court on Monday after a non-bailable warrant was issued against her for failing to record her statement in an ongoing case.

The case involves alleged indecent remarks made against her during a public function following the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Among the accused are Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan, who is currently incarcerated in a different case, and Dr. ST Hasan, who failed to appear in court, according to Special Public Prosecutor Mohanlal Bishnoi. The warrant was issued when Jayaprada did not appear to provide her statement earlier.

Due to time constraints, the court could not proceed with the hearing, which has now been rescheduled to October 25. The case stems from allegations made by Mustafa Hussain, a Rampur resident, who filed charges against Azam Khan, Hasan, and other leaders for their remarks at a degree college event in the Katghar police station area.
