Drone Fury: Kyiv Braces Under Persistent Russian Attacks
Russia launched another drone attack on Kyiv, causing damage and injuring one civilian. Ukrainian air defense intercepted 59 out of 116 drones. Several attacks struck civilian areas, including Zaporizhzhia. The ongoing conflict continues to inflict suffering, as both countries claim they do not aim at civilians.
For the second consecutive night, Russia has targeted the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv with waves of drone attacks, resulting in damaged residential buildings and at least one civilian injury, according to Ukrainian officials on Monday.
The Ukrainian military reported that 59 out of 116 Russian drones sent overnight were intercepted by air defenses, while 45 drones went off radar and possibly fell within Ukrainian territory. Serhiy Popko, head of Kyiv's military administration, expressed ongoing concern over the persistent air assaults on Telegram, stating, "Another night, another worry."
Amidst these tensions, the city of Zaporizhzhia in southeastern Ukraine faced a ballistic missile strike early on Monday, with preliminary reports indicating seven injuries and damage to over 30 houses. Despite claims that civilian areas are not targeted, the human toll and destruction continue to mount in the prolonged conflict.
