Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on party members to remain united and focused as they approach the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections in December. Speaking to thousands of supporters during his campaign tour in Nkawkaw, Dr Bawumia emphasized the importance of voting not only for himself but also for their parliamentary candidates to secure a clear majority in the next parliament.
"It is as important to vote for your parliamentary candidate as it is to vote for me," he stated, highlighting the need for a strong NPP presence in Parliament. He expressed concern over the current parliamentary situation, where the numbers are tightly divided at 137:137, urging supporters to prevent a repeat of this scenario.
Dr Bawumia acknowledged the hard work of the party’s parliamentary candidates and grassroots members, stating that if elections were held today, the NPP would secure a decisive parliamentary majority based on the enthusiasm and support he has witnessed during his constituency visits.
"There is no doubt about it. If the elections are held today, the NPP will have a decisive majority. Not just a majority, but a decisive majority in Parliament," he declared. He assured the crowd of his confidence, sharing that he has campaigned in over 200 constituencies and has seen encouraging data that supports his claim.
However, the Flagbearer reminded supporters that while the momentum is strong, they must remain focused until election day on December 7. "The election is not today. It is on December 7, and if we all come together, by midnight on December 7, you will hear that the NPP has a decisive majority in Parliament," he concluded, rallying his supporters for the critical weeks ahead.
