In a strong response to an alleged attack on fellow lawyers, advocates at the Saket district court announced they will abstain from work on Tuesday. The incident reportedly occurred in a nursery located in Delhi's Mehrauli area.
Members of the Saket court bar association received notifications urging them to boycott work in protest of the assault by local goons. Vinod Sharma, president of the bar association, confirmed the protest, prompted by the circulated messages stating: 'Respected member, completely abstain from work on October 22 due to the brutal attack on lawyers by local goondas within the jurisdiction of police station Mehrauli.'
Dhir Singh Kasana, a former secretary of the association, revealed that the strike aims to demand justice for the advocates attacked near Qutub Minar Metro Station. An FIR was lodged on Monday night, and the legal community expects arrests to be made by Tuesday. The situation gained further attention after a video of the attack went viral, causing widespread indignation among lawyers.
