On Tuesday morning, security forces successfully neutralized two terrorists hiding in a forest near a village in Jammu and Kashmir's Akhnoor sector. This concluded a 27-hour-long gunfight, increasing the militants killed in this operation to three, according to official reports.
The encounter involved coordinated action by special forces, NSG commandos, and the use of BMP-II infantry combat vehicles. One terrorist was initially killed on Monday after they fired on an army convoy near the LoC. Security forces continued their assault into Tuesday, which resulted in two more terrorists being eliminated.
Officials confirmed that the operation to retrieve the bodies of the militants is ongoing, with indications that they infiltrated from across the border before executing the attack. Notably, the operation witnessed the deployment of advanced surveillance techniques, such as drones and helicopters, amid escalating terrorist activities in the region.
