Ankit Yadav, a notorious criminal with a bounty of Rs 1 lakh, was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force in connection with a high-profile daylight robbery in Sultanpur, according to police reports on Tuesday.
The arrest occurred near Chivli Railway Station in Prayagraj after a tip-off. The operation, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Dharmesh Kumar Shahi, resulted in the seizure of 755 grams of silver jewellery from Yadav's possession.
Yadav, part of a criminal gang, revealed details of the meticulously planned robbery at Bharat Jewellers, naming deceased accomplices Anuj Pratap Singh and Mangesh Yadav, among others. The STF's ongoing efforts have led to the arrest of 12 suspects linked to this case.
