Election Commission Orders Suspension of IPS Officer

An IPS officer from the Rajasthan cadre faces suspension for leaving his assigned constituency in Jharkhand without authorization. The Election Commission has communicated this decision, instructing the Rajasthan government to take action following the officer's unauthorized return to Jaipur.

The Election Commission has reportedly ordered the suspension of a Rajasthan cadre IPS officer. The officer allegedly left his post in a Jharkhand constituency, where he was stationed as an observer, without seeking prior authorization.

Sources within the Rajasthan chief electoral officer's office provided insights into the situation. The governing body of elections instructed the state government to suspend the said officer.

It is understood the officer returned to Jaipur from Jharkhand without notifying the Election Commission or obtaining the necessary clearance to depart his duties.
