In a significant crackdown, the Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment conducted raids on properties owned by retired sub-inspector Mahendra Singh Saini in Meerut on Wednesday, amidst allegations of disproportionate assets.

Officials reported that the raids unveiled Saini's wealth amounting to Rs 14.5 crore, with vigilance teams targeting his residences and the New Delhi Public School, linked to his family, which includes his wife Shakuntala Devi and son Anurag Saini.

Among the assets discovered were a school valued at Rs 11.5 crore, multiple properties, jewelry, and documentation for 10 bank accounts. These findings are under scrutiny following a 2022 complaint alleging Saini's possession of disproportionate wealth.
