A Delhi court is set to rule on February 20 on a criminal defamation complaint filed by AAP leader Satyendra Jain against BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj. The decision follows a series of arguments heard by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Neha Mittal.
Jain alleges that Swaraj's statements during an October 2023 TV interview were defamatory, claiming they falsely suggested the discovery of Rs 3 crore, 1.8 kilograms of gold, and 133 gold coins from his residence.
Jain's complaint asserts that the remarks were intended to malign him with false accusations of corruption, seeking an undue political advantage, and carry a potential punishment of up to two years in jail.
