Militants Nabbed in Major Manipur Operation
Five militants associated with banned groups have been apprehended in Manipur's Imphal West, Imphal East, and Thoubal districts. Two active Kangleipak Communist Party members were arrested on Thursday, while others were caught in Imphal East, with weapons recovered, highlighting their involvement in extortion across various sectors.

In a significant crackdown, five militants linked to banned groups were arrested from various districts in Manipur, police reported on Friday. The arrests spanned across Imphal West, Imphal East, and Thoubal.
On Thursday, two active members of the prohibited Kangleipak Communist Party (Noyon) faction were captured in separate operations in Imphal West, namely Thangmeiband and Keishampat.
Additionally, police apprehended another individual from the same faction in Khurai Thoudam Leikai, Imphal East. This suspect was allegedly involved in extorting money from the public and public institutions. Furthermore, two militants from the KCP (PWG) group were detained in Thoubal district, with arms and ammunition recovered during the operations.
