The border forces of India and Bangladesh are set to meet for their bi-annual discussions next week, with key agenda points including border fence construction and the safety of BSF personnel.

The 55th Director General-Level Border Co-ordination Conference will take place at the BSF headquarters from February 17-20 and is the first high-level dialogue since the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government. BSF DG Daljit Singh Chawdhary will lead the Indian side, while Maj General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui will head the BGB delegation.

Key topics include preventing assaults on BSF personnel by Bangladeshi miscreants, tackling trans-border crimes, constructing a single row fence, and joint efforts for effective border management. The meeting will also focus on actions against Indian insurgent groups and enhancing border infrastructure.
