UN Peacekeepers Ambushed in Lebanon En Route to Beirut Airport

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon faced a violent assault when a convoy carrying peacekeepers, including the outgoing deputy force commander, was ambushed on Friday, en route to Beirut's airport.
The incident has provoked demands from the UN mission for a thorough investigation by Lebanese authorities to ensure the perpetrators face justice. President Joseph Aoun has vehemently criticized the attack, stating that national security forces would not tolerate any attempts to destabilize Lebanon.
Security discussions intensified as Lebanon's Interior Minister Ahmad al-Hajjar scheduled an urgent meeting to address the situation. The Lebanese government, backed by international entities including the United States, condemned the assault, which was reportedly orchestrated by Hezbollah supporters.
