Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar heralded a new chapter for Jammu and Kashmir, marking its transition from a conflict zone to a hub of peace and prosperity. Speaking at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University's convocation, he cited the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019 as a pivotal moment in this transformation.
Dhankhar highlighted that the changes brought forth stability and outweigh past discord, fulfilling the vision of a united India once championed by Syama Prasad Mookerjee. The region has seen unprecedented voter turnout and an influx of investments, signaling restored trust and economic progress.
The Vice-President also noted the surge in tourism, with over two crore visitors in 2023, contributing significantly to the local economy. Foreign investment has further cemented the region's newfound stability, making Jammu and Kashmir a beacon of hope and development.
