Outrage Over Alleged Assault of Anganwadi Worker

A contractor has been accused of raping and assaulting a woman Anganwadi worker in a village in the Nadaun area. The victim alleged two years of harassment and threats. Police have initiated an investigation and registered a case under various charges based on her complaint.

An Anganwadi worker in the Nadaun area has accused a contractor of rape and physical assault, leading to a police investigation. According to officials on Monday, the middle-aged worker lodged a complaint claiming harassment by the contractor, named Somdutt, over the past two years.

The victim reported that the contractor had threatened her whenever she mentioned going to the authorities. On February 14, an inappropriate encounter spurred her to officially file a complaint, she alleged.

Police have registered a case under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges of rape, voluntarily causing hurt, and criminal intimidation, as they delve further into the investigation.
