In a significant development in the fight against cyber crime, Thai and Cambodian authorities rescued 215 individuals during a weekend raid in Poipet, a border town notorious for scam centers. A senior Thai official confirmed this as part of an expanding crackdown on illegal operations.

Among those freed were 109 Thai nationals, along with citizens from Pakistan, India, Taiwan, and Indonesia. The operation highlights the ongoing regional cooperation against cyber fraud, which the United Nations reports have trafficked hundreds of thousands into forced labor.

This joint effort follows heightened scrutiny after the kidnapping of Chinese actor Wang Xing, who was lured to a scam center. Recent actions along the Thai-Myanmar border included cutting essential services to dismantle these unlawful networks.
