Notorious Fugitive Injured in Police Encounter in Meerut

A murder accused, carrying a hefty bounty, was seriously injured in a police encounter in Meerut. Known as Jitendra alias Jeetu, the suspect is linked to a murder case in Ghaziabad and a 2016 double murder. He was associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang after absconding on parole.

An individual accused of murder, carrying a bounty of Rs 1 lakh, sustained severe injuries following a police encounter in Meerut's Mundali area, according to senior law enforcement officials.

Identified as Jitendra alias Jeetu from Haryana's Jhajjar district, he was most wanted in connection with a 2023 murder case in Ghaziabad. Authorities had placed a cash reward on his capture.

Uttar Pradesh Police's Special Task Force (STF) ADG Amitabh Yash disclosed that Jitendra, previously sentenced to life for a 2016 double murder, was on the run since jumping parole in 2023. He became involved with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and committed a contract killing last year.
