The alleged victim, a 30-year-old woman from the Katkari community, lodged a complaint at the Bhiwandi taluka police station, which has led to the registration of a First Information Report against the accused, Pandit Mhatre, under multiple legal provisions, including those related to assault and wrongful confinement.
The case has garnered attention due to the involvement of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976. Investigations are continuing, with no arrests made so far.
