In a recent development, Kerala Water Resources Minister Roshy Augustine announced that no official approval has been given to provide water to a private company aiming to establish a brewery in Palakkad.
Minister Augustine made this clarification following inquiries from Congress MLAs concerned about whether the Kerala Water Authority had sanctioned water supply to Oasis Company, which sought to utilize resources from the KINFRA water project in Palakkad.
The state government approved Oasis Commercial Pvt Ltd's brewery plant, sparking controversy due to opposition claims of corruption and potential water resource exploitation. However, the minister emphasized that no water rights have been allocated, and water scarcity concerns are being addressed.
