UK National Arrested for Alleged Assault in Andaman

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands police have arrested a British national accused of sexually assaulting a female tourist from Bengaluru. The incident reportedly took place at a scuba diving resort in Govind Nagar on Swaraj Dweep.

According to the victim, she was socializing with the accused when her drink was allegedly spiked, leading to the assault. She later reported the incident after returning home. A Zero FIR was initially filed and forwarded to the local police station for further action.

The suspect is in a 14-day judicial custody as the police await medical records. He was arrested under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita pertaining to rape, voluntarily causing hurt, and criminal intimidation. The investigation remains ongoing.
