Engineers Arrested for Fatal Altercation with Auto Rickshaw Driver

Two engineers, Jaideep and Mani Shankar, allegedly beat a 21-year-old auto rickshaw driver, Sonu, to death in Gurugram. The altercation started after Sonu, allegedly drunk, verbally abused Jaideep. Sonu died from head injuries, and the two engineers have been arrested following an FIR by Sonu's cousin.

In a tragic turn of events, two engineers, Jaideep and Mani Shankar, have been detained by police in Gurugram after allegedly beating a 21-year-old auto rickshaw driver, Sonu, to death. The incident, rooted in a roadside argument, has shocked the local community.

On Saturday, Jaideep and Mani Shankar encountered Sonu, who was reportedly in an inebriated state, when returning to Jaideep's apartment. An exchange ensued after Sonu refused to park his vehicle on the side, which escalated to a physical confrontation, resulting in fatal injuries to the young driver. Sonu succumbed to his wounds on Sunday at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.

Hailing from Dholi village in Bihar, Sonu was living in Nathupur village as a tenant. An FIR was filed by Sonu's cousin at the DLF Phase 3 Police Station, leading to the arrest of the implicated engineers, who were known to have left their respective jobs in 2022 and 2024 to seek new opportunities in Gurugram.
