Punjab Police have successfully dismantled a major drug trafficking cartel with the arrest of four individuals, including a 16-year-old boy, in Amritsar. The operation resulted in the seizure of 4.01 kg of heroin and Rs 20,000 in cash, according to Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav.

The accused include Tarsem Singh alias Sema, Amrit Singh alias Abhi, Ramanjit Singh alias Raman, and a juvenile whose identity remains confidential due to his age. The police revealed that these individuals were in constant contact with smugglers based in Pakistan, utilizing the Ferozepur sector to smuggle drugs across the border.

Further investigations are underway, with two separate FIRs filed, aiming to uncover the full extent of the drug network. Commissioner of Police Amritsar, Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, stated that targeted operations led to these arrests, with efforts continuing to trace the complete supply chain and potential additional arrests on the horizon.
