President Droupadi Murmu has authorized the registration of an FIR against AAP figures Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, tied to a purported Rs 2,000 crore scam involving classroom construction in Delhi's government schools, according to informed sources.
The Delhi vigilance directorate's 2022 suggestion for an inquiry and subsequent report submission to the chief secretary prompted this move. The Central Vigilance Commission's earlier report highlighted severe irregularities in school construction by the Public Works Department.
AAP has countered that the BJP is engaging in a targeted political campaign against its rivals, voicing concerns over the central government's intentions amid ongoing legal processes.
