Vikram Srivastava, the former Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), passed away at the age of 73 following a brief illness, officials confirmed on Thursday.
Srivastava, who was part of the 1973-batch Indian Police Service from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, retired in 2012. During his illustrious career, he led several central police organizations, including the CRPF, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and the Bureau of Police Research and Development.
Known for his visionary approach and strengthening of the forces, Srivastava is remembered for his efforts to procure essentials for personnel deployed in challenging conditions. The CRPF honored him, acknowledging his foresight and commitment, while his wife Soni expressed pride in his legacy.
