A 25-year-old man accused of raping a minor was apprehended by Mumbai police after a prolonged pursuit. The suspect, Naushad Israr Ahmed, reportedly changed his SIM cards 65 times over three years to avoid detection.
Going underground after being charged with kidnapping and rape in July 2022, Ahmed moved across states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. However, specific phone signal data eventually led to his capture.
Ahmed was working as a truck driver at a courier company in Vadodara when a team from Vinoba Bhave Nagar police station apprehended him. Further investigations are ongoing.
