A major burglary has rocked the town of Suryapet in Telangana, with three kilograms of gold ornaments and Rs 6 lakh in cash stolen from a local jewellery shop. Local police reported that unidentified individuals executed the heist late Sunday night.
The criminals reportedly gained entry by creating a hole in the rear wall of the building, then expertly cut through the shop's shutter using gas cutters. The theft was only discovered on Monday when the shop owner arrived and immediately alerted authorities.
The police, currently in the preliminary stages of their investigation, have formed five dedicated teams to solve the case. The shop owner is assisting by verifying records to confirm the exact extent of the loss.
