A comprehensive inquiry led by Justice Michael D'Cunha has delivered a damning report concerning the June 4 stampede near Chinnaswamy Stadium, declaring both event organizers and senior police officials accountable for the disaster that took 11 lives.
The state cabinet approved the findings, prepared over two volumes by the retired High Court judge, which revealed glaring lapses in safety and security during the ill-fated event organized by Royal Challengers Bengaluru, DNA Networks, and the Karnataka State Cricket Association.
Justice D'Cunha's report highlights the failure to secure requisite permissions and inadequate emergency preparations among the critical failures. Legal action has been suggested against those responsible to prevent such incidents in future public events.
