Former Member of Parliament Prajwal Revanna has been found guilty by a Special Court in one of four cases involving sexual abuse and rape, in a significant verdict delivered on Friday.
The case centers around allegations made by a 48-year-old woman who claimed she was twice sexually assaulted by Revanna in 2021, an incident allegedly recorded on his mobile phone. Special Court Judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat is set to pronounce the sentence on Saturday.
Revanna, the grandson of former Prime Minister and JD(S) leader H D Deve Gowda, faces multiple charges, with explicit videos related to the case emerging prior to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Following the allegations, he was arrested in May 2023 and subsequently suspended by the JD(S).
