A young woman aged 20, identified as Sadhna, has died by suicide in southeast Delhi's Sunlight Colony, according to police reports on Sunday. The tragedy has prompted allegations of maltreatment by her husband and in-laws.
Authorities discovered Sadhna hanging in her residence at Sidharth Basti on Saturday. The discovery followed a PCR call reporting a suspected suicide around noon, according to police sources. A video suggesting Sadhna endured abuse from her husband, Yogesh, and his family has surfaced online. In the video, she recalls facing violence after marrying against familial approval.
The South District Magistrate of Defence Colony is examining testimonies from the victim's mother and brother. While the investigation progresses, the family clamors for justice, urging decisive action against those implicated in her alleged torment.
