The anti-terror operation underway in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district has entered its seventh consecutive day, becoming the year's longest, sources have confirmed. Security forces continue their efforts in the dense forest area after two terrorists were neutralized, despite intermittent exchanges of gunfire.
Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Northern Commander, reviewed the counter-terrorism strategies in South Kashmir. He was briefed on various developments in the ongoing operation aimed at flushing out militants entrenched deep within forested terrain.
Officials say security forces are employing drones and helicopters to track militants in the challenging terrain. Additional reinforcements have joined the operation, which initially commenced following specific intelligence reports of militant presence in Akhal, South Kashmir.
