Thirteen individuals have been arrested in Mumbai's Sion area for allegedly attempting to pilfer copper cables owned by the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), according to a local police report on Saturday.
The arrests followed a police alert that a group was clandestinely using an earth mover to extract cables from a duct in the early hours of Friday.
Upon reaching the site, a police team detained the group. An official complaint by MTNL corroborated the crime, leading to the seizure of the earth mover and the registration of a case.
