In a major drug bust, three women from Manipur were arrested after police seized heroin valued at Rs 4.4 crore in Meghalaya's East Jaintia Hills district. According to law enforcement officials, the narcotics were discovered during a routine check.
The anti-narcotics task force (ANTF), along with the district police, conducted the operation at Umkiang patrolling post. The officers uncovered 961.33 grams of heroin neatly packed in 80 soap boxes from the suspects' vehicle.
Further investigations are underway to unravel the connections to an inter-state drug syndicate. Authorities have urged the public to report any information about narcotic supplies, promising anonymity and rewards for valuable leads.
