The Allahabad High Court, in a significant decision, granted bail to prominent Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan on Thursday. The bail pertains to the Quality Bar land encroachment case situated in Rampur district.
Justice Samir Jain, after considering the arguments presented by the counsels on August 21, delivered the much-awaited ruling. The FIR, filed in 2019, initially named other individuals but not Khan. However, a reinvestigation ensued five years later, implicating Khan.
During the hearing, Khan's counsel, Imran Ulla, highlighted the long delay in filing the FIR given the incident's occurrence in 2013, questioning the validity of further investigations after such a period.
