Sabarimala Gold Probe Heats Up: SIT to Present First Progress Report

The Special Investigation Team (SIT), charged with investigating the disappearance of gold from Sabarimala, is preparing to submit its first progress report to the Kerala High Court, as revealed by police sources on Monday.

The report is expected to be presented to the division bench of Justices Raja Vijayaraghavan and KV Jayakumar. It will highlight the arrest of Unnikrishnan Potty, a Bengaluru resident involved in the electroplating of gold, and details of investigations conducted in Chennai.

Criticisms have arisen, with Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Sunny Joseph condemning the slow action against the accused and alleging government protection. The SIT has been directed to conclude its investigation within six weeks.
