A CPI(M) leader faced legal repercussions for unauthorized recording during a murder trial, intensifying the political undertones of the case. K P Jyothi, previously serving as vice-chairperson of Payyannur Municipality, was detained inside the Taliparamba Additional District Sessions Court after she was caught filming the accused.

During the trial, which involves BJP-RSS members implicated in a politically charged murder, Jyothi used her mobile device to capture footage. The presiding judge promptly instructed the courtroom police to take her into custody when he noticed the breach of conduct.

Following the court's directive, Jyothi was fined Rs 1,000 and released after 5 pm. This incident underscores the ongoing tensions between political factions and brings further scrutiny to courtroom proceedings in politically sensitive cases.
