Police have initiated an investigation into the suicide of K Aravind, a 38-year-old engineer with Ola Electric, amid allegations of workplace harassment by his superiors. Aravind, who worked as a homologation engineer for the company since 2022, died after allegedly consuming poison on September 28.
Following his tragic death, Aravind's brother lodged a complaint accusing the company's top officials, including founder Bhavish Aggarwal, of causing distress through harassment and withholding dues. A 28-page note from Aravind reportedly blames his superiors for the harassment and financial issues leading to his suicide.
While the Karnataka High Court has blocked any harassment of the accused, the investigation continues. Meanwhile, Ola Electric has disputed the claims and sought legal recourse. The company expressed sorrow over Aravind's death and stated that no grievances were previously reported by him.
