An ULFA (I) member was killed during a joint operation by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles in Arunachal Pradesh's Namsai district, said a defence spokesperson on Thursday.
Engagement with the militants took place in the MS-6 area, resulting in the death of self-styled 'Sergeant Major' Iwon Axom. Security forces retrieved the militant's body and uncovered a cache of weapons, hinting at a larger plan.
