Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha reaffirmed on Wednesday that under his leadership, the BJP is focused on bolstering the socio-economic status of the state's tribal communities, steering clear of using them as mere electoral pawns.

Speaking at a BJP event in Sepahijala district's Takarjala, Saha noted a history of political exploitation where tribals were mobilized for rallies and demonstrations during election periods without seeing tangible advancements. He asserted that substantive progress began with the BJP's ascension in 2018.

Further affirming the BJP's agenda, Saha discussed the designation of 12 tribal-dominated areas as 'aspirational blocks' aimed at accelerating development. Additionally, the administration's commitment to honoring the Manikya dynasty's legacy was reiterated, alongside a promise to not succumb to threats from political adversaries, vowing legal measures to uphold a robust democratic system.
