In a major drug bust, Telangana's anti-narcotics wing, EAGLE, along with the Narcotics Control Bureau, seized 500 kg of ganja from a lorry in Jharkhand. The vehicle, originating from Malkangiri, Odisha, was enroute to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, when it was intercepted.
The operation, based on specific intelligence, anticipated the lorry's passage through Telangana. However, the suspects altered their route to evade monitoring, prompting a swift change in the pursuit strategy by EAGLE. Despite the high-speed evasion, the pursuit continued with relentless communication between teams.
Efforts culminated in the seizure of the illegal consignment in Simdega, Jharkhand. One individual was taken into custody, while two intended receivers in Varanasi remain at large, raising concerns over organized drug distribution networks across states.
