Pakistani Anti-Terrorism Court Orders Clampdown on Aleema Khan

A Pakistani anti-terrorism court blocked the passport and assets of Aleema Khan, sister of ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan, for her failure to attend court hearings in a terrorism case. Corresponding to PTI-led protests last November, the court froze her accounts and adjourned till October 27.

A Pakistani anti-terrorism court dealt a significant legal blow to Aleema Khan, sister of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Friday as it ordered the blocking of her passport, national identity card, and bank accounts.

Trouble began when Aleema repeatedly failed to appear for hearings related to a terrorism case tied to protests by her brother's political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), despite having non-bailable warrants issued for her arrest.

The court has now frozen her assets and seized the properties of her guarantor, emphasizing the gravity of the charges. Proceedings have been adjourned until October 27.
