The Delhi State Election Commission is set to include candidate photographs on electronic voting machines (EVMs) during the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) bypolls, a strategic move to mitigate voter confusion arising from candidates sharing identical names.
Scheduled for November 30, the bypolls cover 12 wards. Candidate photographs, to be displayed in color with specific guidelines on dimensions and background, aim to facilitate clarity, according to directives from Delhi State Election Commissioner Vijay Dev.
The nomination process kicks off on November 3, with critical dates including nomination filings closing on November 10, and voting slated for November 30, followed by the counting of votes on December 3.
