The Enforcement Directorate has apprehended Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, the chairman of the Al Falah group, following simultaneous operations in Delhi-NCR. This move is part of the ongoing probe into the Red Fort area car blast case, as the Al Falah University trustees and promoters face intense scrutiny.
Siddiqui's arrest came under the criminal provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), with intent to further the investigation. The ED has seized Rs 48 lakh in cash during these operations, which began early in the morning.
Raids were conducted at 25 locations linked to Al Falah Trust, involving heavy security. The investigation has targeted various financial activities, with officials probing connections to known medical personnel and multiple dummy companies. This case highlights extensive money laundering inquiries intersecting with anti-terror probes.
