After 413 days, the Munambam relay hunger strike is set to end on November 30. The protest has highlighted the land dispute where 600 families were affected by land claimed as Waqf.
The decision follows a Kerala High Court ruling, instructing the state to accept land tax until the matter is resolved. The Munambam Land Protection Council agreed to pause their protest after assurances from the government regarding the completion of land acquisition procedures.
Despite the resolution, rifts have emerged. Some factions, allegedly linked with the BJP, plan to continue their agitation, insisting that the core issue is unresolved. Discontent remains as discussions continue about the future of the disputed 404-acre land.
