Tragic Farewell: Ex-Police Officer's Life Ends in Despair

A retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, H Y Thurai, aged 75, tragically died by suicide at his home. Having suffered depression after his wife's death and facing health issues, Thurai allegedly shot himself with a gun. His years of service concluded in Kalaburagi.

A somber incident unfolded as a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police took his own life at his residence. Officials revealed that H Y Thurai, 75, a native of Kushtagi in Koppal, allegedly ended his life using a barrel gun while his son was upstairs.

The KTJ Nagar police promptly arrived at the scene for investigation. Close sources disclosed that Thurai lived with his son after battling grief and depression following his wife's fatal accident a few years ago.

Thurai's commendable career commenced in Ballari and saw him serve across regions like Harapanahalli, Davangere, Kudligi, and Chitradurga, with his retirement in Kalaburagi.
