The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command, Lt Gen RC Tiwari, engaged in an in-depth discussion with Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd) on key issues impacting the region, including border security and the welfare of ex-servicemen.
Lt Gen Tiwari, also joined by General Officer Commanding 3 Corps, Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, explored themes such as infrastructure enhancement and technology adoption, aligning with the government's 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative. Governor Parnaik highlighted the global implications of India's progress, underscoring the ethical use of technology and humanitarian values.
The Governor appreciated the Army's efforts in fostering peace and community relations, particularly through the Vibrant Village Programme. This initiative targets comprehensive village development by utilizing local resources. Parnaik also stressed support for ex-servicemen and actively involving Veer Naris, who are widows of fallen soldiers, in community activities.
