Farmers Rally in Madhya Pradesh for Loan Waivers and MSP Law

Farmers in Madhya Pradesh staged a protest at a toll plaza demanding a loan waiver, MSP law, and cow recognition as the 'mother of the nation'. Under the Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Mahasangh, they blocked roads with tractors. Despite ongoing talks, the protest continues until demands are met.

Farmers in Madhya Pradesh initiated a sit-in protest on Monday at a toll plaza in Dhar district, demanding key reforms including a loan waiver and a law to guarantee Minimum Support Prices (MSP). The demonstrators are also advocating for the cow to be honored as the 'mother of the nation'.

Chanting religious verses under the banner of the Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Mahasangh, hundreds blocked parts of a four-lane road at the Khalghat toll plaza. A significant police presence aims to maintain order as dialogues between the administration and the farmers continue.

Farmer leader Sitaram Ingala stated that the protest will persist until the central government accedes to their demands. They propose plans for structured crop purchases and tweaked export-import policies beneficial to farmers. The demonstration, involving agriculturists from several districts, could expand if disrupted by authorities.
